Self Love Workshop
We gathered together and talked about the importance of cultivating healthy habits in our lives that promote positive self-talk. Understanding the importance of becoming aware of negative self-talk. How you can start to become aware of the language you use towards yourself. Do you talk to yourself like you talk to someone you love? Dr. Amen calls these automatic negative thoughts (ANTS). We need to learn to eliminate these ants from our vocabulary. One thing we can do is to create positive affirmations to replace them. Building that muscle everyday so that it becomes stronger when we need to use it. These affirmations repeated over and over will help us re-program our thoughts and therefore help us start to believe in ourselves more. We did an exercise using "I am" statements, and we made a commitment of taking the time to love ourselves more.
